Welcome!
Welcome to my mind!
The purpose of using this blog is to share my thoughts of the classroom and allow time for me to reflect on what is going well and what isn't going so well in the classroom. As I am asking the students to be metacognitive, I want to model this with transparency.
Please visit the blogs of the students at Government Symbaloo to view the Government classes' blogs and History Symbaloo for the American History classes' blogs! Check these out and leave a comment for the students to either provide your opinion and/or suggestions for further learning!
Feel free to comment with any questions or insight on my blog as well!

American History
Whew! We made it through the Civil War -- Well, test is on Monday, anyway! Next, we move on to the Wild West, violent exchanges with the Native Americans; students will be using resources outside of their textbook to realize the extremes settlers went through as well as the devastation the Native Americans experienced.
American Government
Students in American Government are realizing the failures of the Articles of Confederation and are now learning the basics of the U.S. Constitution. This week we will be singing, yes, singing the Constitution Rap as well as using a primary document analysis sheet to discover the framework of this document. We will also be completing outside readings to build our background knowledge regarding the principles of the Constitution. Once all students have the necessary knowledge base, we will be discovering and completing activities covering the Bill of Rights.
